The Hoffmann articulated fixator, from the family of external fixators for osteosynthesis, is indicated for emergency or definitive stabilization in the treatment of fractures, especially open fractures caused by high kinetic energy traumas, which involve great bone comminution and soft tissue injuries, where internal osteosynthesis presents a great risk of infection. It is also widely used in orthopaedic diseases involving pseudarthrosis and deformities.
