The Preston fixator, part of the Dynamic External Fixator family, has a reception structure made up exclusively of platforms connected by a body with intrinsic mobility. It is indicated for compression or distraction, as well as for emergency or definitive stabilization in the treatment of fractures, especially open fractures caused by high kinetic energy trauma, which involves a great deal of bone comminution and soft tissue injuries, where internal osteosynthesis presents a high risk of infection.
