The Colles fixator, from the family of Dynamic External fixators, has a reception structure exclusively for body-connected platforms with intrinsic mobility, is indicated for compression or distraction, as well as for emergency or definitive stabilization in the treatment of fractures in the carpal, metacarpal and radius regions, especially open fractures caused by high kinetic energy traumas, which involve a great deal of bone comminution and soft tissue injuries, where internal osteosynthesis presents a great risk of infection. It is also widely used in orthopaedic diseases involving pseudarthrosis and deformities.
